Chimney Rock

Chimney Rock is adjacent to Lake Lure and is an incorporated village of about 175 year round residents.

Chimney Rock Park is one of North Carolina’s most popular tourist attractions, attracting a quarter-million visitors every year. Beyond Chimney Rock itself, the park offers 3.5 miles of hiking trails, ranging from easy to strenuous, that lead to several other points of interest.
Trails lead to the top and bottom of Hickory Nut Falls, which drops 404 feet and is one of the highest waterfalls east of the Mississippi River. The bottom of the falls is a popular spot for those looking to cool their feet after a long day of hiking.

Chimney Rock Village lies along the banks of the Rocky Broad River at the base of Chimney Rock Park. Drawing tourists to its old-time shops and waterfront restaurants, the village captures a piece of the past.
